Rushnyk of Unity — Rushnyk of Victory flash mob in Cyprus
4 Nov 2025: communities carried the travelling cloth (reported as 180 m) through Limassol. The report credits the idea to Kherson Rotarians Andrii Yatsenko and Viktoriia Bebko (2014).
What the sources say
The Rushnyk is a 180-meter travelling cloth composed of pieces embroidered by Ukrainian women living in 12 different countries. The initiative began in 2014 with Kherson Rotarians Andrii Yatsenko and Viktoriia Bebko. For this event, the Cyprus contribution was embroidered by the Community of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship, Obiimy Cyprus, and Almazina Art center.
On 4 November 2025, participants from Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca, and Ayia Napa carried the cloth along the Molos promenade in Limassol. Nadiia Mykhailina coordinated this event with Plast Cyprus, following an earlier march in Larnaca coordinated by Liolia Filimonova. The organizers subsequently passed the flashmob relay to Ukrainian communities in Norway, France, and Denmark.
