Threads of Unity, Boryslav
Community rushnyk mapping each settlement's ornaments, made on World Vyshyvanka Day and presented 21 May 2026 at the local museum.
What the sources say
The "Threads of Unity" rushnyk is a textile map of the Boryslav community, presented on May 21, 2026, at the local historical museum. Тетяна Кекіс coordinated the project, and Галина Крисько digitized the sketches. Embroiderers included Галина Дзяма, Ірина Диняк, Ганна Глод, and Марія Завацька, alongside artisans from surrounding villages.
Each settlement has a dedicated section separated by ornamental hemstitching. Boryslav is represented by a black oil derrick forming the letter "Б". The village of Popeli features its wooden Church of the Intercession, while Yasenytsia-Silna includes salt cones and a chapel commemorating the abolition of serfdom. Vynnyky displays grapevines and a communion chalice.
The completed embroidery now remains permanently at the Boryslav Historical and Local Lore Museum as a piece of cultural heritage. The organizers plan to create a dedicated passport for the textile to record the detailed history of its creation and list the names of all the participating artisans.
