The Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago, Illinois, houses a folk art collection of more than 10,000 objects. Located in Chicago's Ukrainian Village at 2249 W. Superior Street, the institution has operated for over seventy years. The museum serves as an integral part of the local Ukrainian community.
The permanent collection features ritual cloths known as rushnyky, alongside kylyms and a broad selection of woven and embroidered textiles. These items are displayed alongside wedding and festive attire from various regions of Ukraine. The museum also holds 19th and 20th-century ceramics, metalwork, decorative wood-carved objects, and pysanky.
A separate fine arts collection holds around 500 works by noted 20th-century Ukrainian artists. The museum maintains permanent exhibits covering historical subjects such as the Kozak period, World War I, the Chicago World’s Fair, and the Holodomor.
