Ukraine in the Palms — Rushnyk of Unity, Irpin
27.41 m × 1.5 m cloth with the emblems of all regions, registered 13 July 2024; honoured children killed in the invasion.
This is a separate initiative with its own organizers. The travelling Rushnyk of Unity — Rushnyk of Victory, shown in Carleton Place in 2026, is another project.
What the sources say
The "Ukraine in the Palms" rushnyk was created on the Irpin embankment on July 6, 2024, and officially measured at 27.41 meters long and 1.5 meters wide on July 13. Initiated by the "For Ukrainians" charitable foundation and the Irpin City Council, the cloth features the painted coats of arms of 25 Ukrainian regions and the national emblem.
Military veterans, volunteers, internally displaced persons, and local residents painted the regional symbols and left their handprints on the fabric. The organizers combined the event with a fundraising campaign to purchase 100 drones for the armed forces. Participants also planted paradise apple trees to honor children killed during the invasion.
