Rushnyk of Memory, Liubeshiv
16 m cloth embroidered by relatives with the names of 118 fallen defenders; presented 1 Oct 2025.
What the sources say
On October 1, 2025, for the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, residents gathered in the center of Liubeshiv, Volyn, to present a 16-meter embroidered cloth. Families of fallen soldiers created this project, embroidering the names of 118 local residents who died during the Russian-Ukrainian war and the Revolution of Dignity.
A central heart design unites all the names on the cloth. Olha Vashchuk, head of the regional military administration, helped unfurl the fabric alongside the families. She noted that mothers, wives, and children used threads to stitch the names, making the cloth a physical record of their memory.
