What the sources say
The Ivan Honchar Museum in Kyiv hosts an online collection featuring a specific red embroidered rushnyk from the early twentieth century. An unknown maker in Velyki Sorochyntsi, Poltavshchyna, crafted the item. Petro Honchar donated this piece to the museum in 2001, where it received the inventory number КН-267.
The textile measures 377 by 51 centimeters and consists of homespun hemp cloth decorated with manual embroidery using red twisted yarn. One densely embroidered end depicts a potted tree surrounded by round flowers, leaves, and two birds. The opposite end features a similar, sparser floral design along the edges.
