Laurier Optical Carleton Place

About the business

Laurier Optical announced this store on its own Facebook page: "Carleton Place, we have exciting news to share!

We've opened a NEW Laurier Optical location inside the Carleton Place Regional Health Hub. 22 Costello Dr, Unit 109. 613-964-2222." The chain's homepage carries the same line — "NOW OPEN Proud to be your neighbours inside the Carleton Place Regional Health Hub."

On its About page the company writes: "Since 1985 we've been serving everyone who takes their eyes seriously – from college students to families, to seniors – in multiple convenient locations across Ottawa and surrounding areas, Southern Ontario, and Western Quebec, across their lifetimes, ensuring accessibility and affordability so that no one is excluded from seeing and looking better." Their own one-line summary of the business is shorter: "We're in the business of helping everyone see and look their best." Their promotional banners sign off "Proudly Canadian owned."

The Carleton Place store page lists the practical details: 22 Costello Dr, Unit 109, Carleton Place, ON K7C 0C3; (613) 964-2222; Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday. A comprehensive eye exam is listed at $90, and the same page notes that "Seniors aged 65 and up are covered through OHIP for an eye exam every 18 months and individuals aged 19 and below are covered through OHIP for an eye exam once every 12 months." Same-day appointments are often available, and the chain says walk-in eye exams are available.

"At Laurier optical, we believe that quality eye care starts with an expert optometrist and a thorough eye exam. That is why we have optometrists on-site at our locations," the store page says. Across its stores the company lists Ray-Ban, Oakley, Gucci, Prada, Tiffany & Co., Versace, Emporio Armani, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Michael Kors, Coach, Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Longchamp, Nike, Nautica, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade and Rebecca Minkoff among the frames it carries, alongside its own private label collection — "Exclusive to Laurier Optical, our private label collection offers high-quality frames designed with precision and care."

What the company calls its After-Sale Promise follows the purchase: free adjustments, repairs and replacements, and warranty coverage. Its guarantees page adds a 90-day adaptation guarantee — "contact your Laurier Optical store within 90 days of receiving your glasses. We will gladly replace them at no charge" — and a one-year manufacturer warranty against defects on frames. Direct billing to insurance is available on frame purchases; the FAQ names Greenshield, Provider Connect and Blue Cross among the providers.
